    Dr. Jake grew up in Western Pennsylvania and attended Penn State University, where he played varsity lacrosse and majored in psychology.

    As a young man, Dr. Jake was fascinated with Asian cultures and spent five years in Japan, where he studied shiatsu, aikido, and tai chi. After his studies in Japan, Dr. Jake spent a year motorcycling through Thailand, Nepal, and India, where he studied traditional healing arts.
